"I really want to try being a model, but I am under 18. Is there anything I can do?"
The answer is real easy, the explanation may be hard.
A parent or legal guardian will be required to be involved in all phases of the photo shoot. THIS INCLUDES THE ACTUAL PHOTO SESSION. Your parent or guardian will also be required to attend, or be a part of, any discussions after the initial contact. Any modeling agreement or TFP (time for prints) agreement will also be signed by the parent or guardian.
Now I'd like to talk to the parent(s) or guardian. This is a note just for them.
You are involved in your young person's life right now. You will have to be very involved if your young person wants to be photographed. You will have to be present at all times... I will require your taking part in all phases of the session.
Life is short, and for a young person, it should be fun. A photo session is what you and your young person make of it. It could lead to a real drive and desire for some type of modeling or acting career. It could also just as easily be pictures that you can reflect on in the future. For whatever reason, if a young adult would like to give it a try, then by all means, allow them the opportunity. Be a part of it and participate in the planning and scheduling of the session. The rewards you get could be priceless.
Who knows, you may have so much fun that you may think that you might want to give it a try. And why not... life is short.
Do it for them... do it for yourself!
